A NeuConnect spokesperson said: ​

“As net importers of energy, European countries are dependant on crucial links with neighbouring countries to help power homes, businesses and public services the length and breadth of the continent, but the benefits of interconnectors will only be delivered if the UK and Europe maintain a close energy relationship.

“We therefore welcome the UK and EU’s recognition of the need for efficient electricity trading to remain a key part of the UK’s future relationship with the EU, including the efficient trade over interconnectors.

“We now urge all sides to continue discussions and reach agreement on a final deal to offer clarity for millions of consumers and businesses throughout Europe.”
